Currently, the hottest country in the world is considered to be Libya. In the major city of Al'Aziziyah, temperatures as high as 136 degrees Fahrenheit - 57.8 degrees Celsius - have been recorded. Libya lies on the Earth's equator. As the Earth rotates, countries on the equator go closest to the Sun, and are therefore the hottest countries in the world. Of course, with the phenomenon of global warming changing the world's climate, we could soon see another country taking the mantle of being the hottest country in the world. In addition, it is unclear whether Libya has the highest average temperature; other countries such as India and Ethiopia also have very hot climates. In Dallol, Ethiopia, the mean temperature is 94 degrees Fahrenheit (34.4 degrees Celsius). Some consider Dallol to be the hottest place on Earth.

The temperature of 136 degrees Fahrenheit, which is the hottest temperature to ever be measured on the planet, was recorded on the 13th of September 1922. However, some believe the accuracy of this reading is controversial. The weather station that recorded the temperature was built on black tarmac, which would have absorbed a high proportion on sunlight and therefore made the air artificially hotter. In addition, the maximum thermometer at the station had been damaged, so an unspecialized thermometer was being used. Despite these factors, most accept that the temperature recorded was valid and the hottest temperature to yet be recorded on Earth.

If we were to discard the temperature reading from 1922 in Libya, we would turn to the second highest recorded temperature yet to be taken on Earth. This reading occurred in 1913, in Death Valley in the United States. A temperature on 134 degrees Fahrenheit (56.7 degrees Celsius) was recorded.

The hottest country in the world is Libya, reaching 58.3 Degrees Celsius in the 1920's. Death Valley in the United States followed closely behind, but today, the hottest average is in Mali.

Al 'Azizia is also the name of its capital. The hottest ever atmosphere of air temperature was of about 57.8°C which in Fahrenheit in 136°F, was actually recorded at Al'Azizyah, in Libya, on 13 September in 1922. According to the records the place with the hottest average of air temperature is Dalol, Ethiopia, basically with an average temperature of 34.4°C and 93.9°F

Opposing to the experts opinion, the hottest temperatures do not usually occur any where near the equator. Al'aziziyah and the Death Valley, which is the location of the second highest temperature that was ever recorded, are located in the north temperature zone with latitudes 33°N and 36°N respectively. The top most part of mount Chimborazo is totally covered by glaciers despite the fact that it is 163km or 101 miles from the equator. Being the hottest place of the world there are a number of disadvantages faced by the people living there. As there is just weather through out the year and no rains, no winter etc. Well it is considered as a major draw back.

I would say Djibouti is the hottest it never goes below 25° during the cold season and 40° during the summer, I was there last summer (2009) and it was a whopping 47° at night
